Wood in the funeral industry is a tradition. Probably our earliest recollections of a funeral are of the magnificent polished casket or coffin as the dignified centre of a formal ceremony. In many cultures, this component of a burial is still regarded as essential to the proper recognition and respect for the deceased. For flower cards, letters of sympathy and other mementos we can offer a box. Glyph has created a range of burial canisters and storage urns for cremated remains. These are a light and attractive container for dry storage yet when buried are readily bio-degradeable: their construction of wood on a fibre board base will please cemeteries everywhere. For more elaborate memorials we are able to offer marquetry portraits of the deceased in multiple copies for distribution among the families, and memorial furniture for a stately presence in the residence. |
